Product description

A carnation surrounded by leaves is the motif of this doormat. The red and green floral pattern is stenciled on a black background.

The image of the doormat comes from a wallpaper in the Victoria and Albert Museum archives, designed in 1895-1896 for the interior of Compton Hall in England. The wallpaper is believed to be by the founder of Morris & Co. The result of a collaboration between William Morris (1834–96) and his apprentice J.H. Dearle (1859–1932).

The doormat is 90 cm wide, 60 cm deep and 1.5 cm thick.

The handmade doormat is responsibly produced in the state of Kerala, India. The surface material of the doormat is coconut fiber. Coconut fiber is obtained from the shell of the coconut and is a compostable natural material. Only environmentally friendly dyes are used in the dyeing of the doormat.
The underside of the doormat is plastic.
