Importing from Indonesia since 2000. Own collection of handcrafted wooden furniture. Refurbished vintage products. Interior design and gift items.

Sasu Heikkilä, who lived in Singapore with her family in the late 1990s, fell in love with teak as a material, bought a container of children's teak furniture and founded the company when the container left for Finland. This is how the story of Sasu's Playhouse began in 2000.

Since May 2024, the Sasu's Playhouse story has been continued under the Sasu's brand name and with a new lineup.

Sasu's long-standing dream of spending the winter in Italy is coming true and Katja Kantola will continue to lead the company. Sasu will continue to develop the teak furniture collection and will continue to head to Indonesia to search for vintage products. Interior designer Hanna Chaker brings solid interior design expertise and vision to the team.

Timeless recycled wood furniture

Teak furniture made in Indonesia has been in our range since 2000. In 2010, we started working with a carpenter who makes furniture from recycled teak, and since then, all teak furniture has been made from the roofs, walls and floors of houses that have reached the end of their life cycle and have been demolished.

From the beginning, it has been very important to us to know where the products in our own collection are made, who makes them, and under what conditions.

Together with a local carpenter, and largely based on customer feedback, we have developed the Design by Sasu's collection.

Thanks to a skilled carpenter, we can create individual, custom-made furniture for our customers very cost-effectively.
