The Mad Men Griff Bronx Azurite rug has a blue-grey-grey base color. The pattern's shade is blue. In places, the blue thread has a hint of metallic sheen in sunlight.

The core idea of the program is shared responsibility: you take care of the rug during its lifecycle, and Louis De Poortere takes responsibility for its return, reuse, or recycling at the end of its life.

It all starts with proper care. Every Ecorug is machine washable, and the Take Care instructions help keep the rug beautiful for as long as possible. Careful maintenance is the most important way to ensure the rug retains its color, structure, and comfort year after year.

When a rug reaches the end of its useful life, returning it is made easy for the customer. Using a QR code and serial number, the rug can be returned free of charge, allowing Louis De Poortere to manage the entire process responsibly from start to finish.

After return, the rug is carefully evaluated. Rugs in good condition are cleaned, refurbished, and sold as second-hand products, further extending their lifespan. Rugs that can no longer be resold are directed to a recycling network, where they are returned as raw material for new polyester.

Vacuuming

For a long-lasting Ecorug carpet, it is important to vacuum it at least once a week from the day of purchase. At least once a month, check if the vacuum cleaner's dust filter needs to be cleaned before vacuuming.

Do not vacuum the carpet with a vacuum cleaner that has a rotating brush attachment, as it can damage the carpet's surface fibers.

Beating the carpet

If the carpet is easy to lift, shake it outdoors and then hang it on a clothesline for beating, preferably from the reverse side. Finally, bring the carpet back indoors and vacuum it.

Fresh stains

Moisten a clean cotton cloth with cold water, wring it out until damp, and place the cloth over the stain. The cloth will gradually absorb the fresh stain without the dirt sinking deeper into the fibers. Leave the cloth in place until it has dried. Do not rub or dab the stain, as this can damage the carpet's surface. Never use soap.

Wash the carpet according to the following instructions:

• Remove the label from the back of the carpet, but keep it carefully. You will need it if you ever wish to return the carpet (Take Care circular economy program)
  
• The carpet can be washed by hand or in a washing machine at a maximum of 30 °C using a delicate or normal light wash program.
  
• Use reduced spinning, maximum 600 rpm.
  
• Do not tumble dry, as high temperatures can affect the carpet's colors.
  
• Dry the carpet flat by draining or hanging it indoors to prevent sunlight from fading the colors.
  
• Do not iron the carpet, unless it is for the edge binding repair mentioned below.
  
• Do not use bleach, as it can alter the colors.
  

During machine washing, the carpet's heat-set edge binding may partially detach. This is normal. If this happens, you can reattach it by positioning the strip and ironing it from the reverse side of the carpet at a maximum temperature of 110 °C. Ironing is allowed only for this purpose and should be done on an ironing board.

During washing, slight wear may appear on the back of the carpet. This is completely normal and does not affect the visible surface or quality of the carpet.

Prevention is the best cure

Place a doormat in front of your home's entrance to collect dirt and reduce carpet wear. Also, regularly change your home's ventilation filters to keep airborne dust to a minimum.

Regularly rotate the carpet 180 degrees to shift the side exposed to the most wear. This way, the carpet wears more evenly and retains its appearance for longer.

When storing, the carpet should always be rolled with the front side facing outwards and protected with fabric. Never fold the carpet or store it in a tight plastic bag.

After washing the floor, any soap residues should be thoroughly rinsed with clean water. Dried soap residues can transfer to the carpet from shoe soles or bare feet, causing the carpet to get dirty faster than usual.

Also, after washing the floor, ensure that the surface beneath the carpet is completely dry before placing the carpet back. Any moisture or detergent residues can affect the properties of the carpet's upper or lower surface.

We recommend using an anti-slip mat or underlay.

Outdoor use

The carpet is ideally suited for covered terraces, porches, and glazed balconies. The carpet is resistant to moisture and occasional rain showers, but prolonged exposure to continuous rain or standing moisture is not recommended.
