Doormat red-green | 90 x 60 x 1.5 cm | Briar
Product description
The repeating stylized rose patterns on this doormat are based on the Briar wallpaper design created in 1901 by British architect and designer C.F.A. Voysey. Briar, part of the Victoria and Albert Museum collections, embodies the designer's idea that "less is more" and reflects William Morris's influence on pattern design. Voysey belonged to the later generation of the Arts & Crafts movement, heavily inspired by Morris. Both designers favored botanical motifs drawn from nature, craftsmanship, and timeless ornaments, but Voysey's style was more simplified and modern than Morris's.
This handcrafted doormat is responsibly produced in the state of Kerala, India. The surface material of the doormat is coir. Coir is obtained from coconut husks and is a compostable natural material. Only environmentally friendly dyes are used in coloring the doormat. The underside of the doormat is made of plastic.
The doormat can be cut with a sharp utility knife lengthwise or widthwise.
