The design of this doormat is based on a textile or wallpaper design found in the Victoria and Albert Museum archives, created in 1918 by British architect and designer C.F.A. Voysey.

Voysey is known as one of the most beloved designers of the Arts and Crafts Movement. In addition to his architectural work, he also extensively designed household items and interiors. His surface patterns have remained popular to this day, and they are recognizable by their nature-inspired, simplified, and stylized ornaments. William Morris's influence is also visible in Voysey's design work: both favored craftsmanship, natural forms, and timeless patterns, but Voysey's style was clearer and more modern than Morris's.

The handmade doormat is responsibly manufactured in the state of Kerala, India. The surface material of the doormat is coir. Coir is obtained from coconut husks and is a compostable natural material. Only environmentally friendly dyes are used in coloring the doormat. The underside of the doormat is made of plastic.

The doormat can be cut with a sharp utility knife lengthwise or widthwise.
