Wimpole Hall is a country house located in Cambridgeshire, England. Construction began in 1640 and the estate was owned by the Chicheley family for over 250 years. Today, the estate and its 3,000 acres (12 km²) of parkland and farmland are owned by the National Trust.

The historic hue found on the door of the larder at Wimpole Hall is typical of the colours used to paint the areas where servants prepared meals for the owners of such grand mansions.

These muted browns and neutrals were popular because they did not show dirt or damage easily, and were produced sparingly by mixing paints and pigments left over from the interior of the main house. This deep stone-coloured paint was discovered in collaboration with the National Trust.
