Rattan furniture should not be left exposed to rain and sun for long periods of time. The best place to place it outdoors is under a canopy.

Vacuum and wipe with a damp cloth from time to time to prevent dirt from accumulating on the chair.

If the chair is exposed to rain for a long time or is stored in a cold and damp place during the winter, the surface may darken. Wash the surface with a mildew remover and, after it has dried, sand the surface slightly with fine sandpaper.

Rattan withstands temperature changes well, including frost. Protect the chair from snow/rain.

A rattan chair should not be placed near a heat source, such as a radiator or fireplace. If the rattan dries out completely, it may crack or even break. Using a humidifier or misting with water is recommended in winter when the humidity is very low.
